My sons are 3, 5, 8 and 9 years old. I first bought 4 different sets of pads so each of my boys would have pads that not only look different so we can easily tell them apart but also match their bikes. Unfortunately, these pads were the only set worth anything. I read all the reviews and thought I would buy pads that would protect and fit my kids. Not correct! This set from JBM International was the only set that stayed in place without slipping off. The main difference is that in addition to the very strong straps, this set has an elastic material behind the pad that keeps them in place, much like a volleyball knee pad. Other sets only have straps that don't even hold the pads in place. They were too loose and immediately slipped off - even on my 9 year old. This JBM set stays on ALL of my boys regardless of their size because of this stretchy material. However, this feature was not part of the product description, so I had no way of knowing that these pads were different (better) than other pads. They always look stronger in the picture and cost a little more but in both sets there was nothing in the description to explain why. I don't see the point in putting elbow and knee pads on kids if they won't stay in place. The point is to make sure my kids are protected. I returned the other 3 sets and ordered 3 more of this set. We either use stickers on the pads to tell them apart or we paint a dot on the back of each with different colored nail polish. With this set your child is protected!
