THE BIGGEST problem is that an extremely simple (albeit belated) Google search showed me that they are actually mostly plastic and not an "eco-friendly alternative". If they were truly biodegradable, they would completely decompose in the dishwasher. "Sustainable Wheat Material: Our bowls are made from wheat straw and food grade polypropylene, a sustainable product that is renewable, compostable and biodegradable." "Food grade PP" means plastic. The wheat portion is compostable/decomposable, but inseparable from the plastic. So they are actually WORSE than plastic because they don't last as long. But otherwise. They instantly became my favorite cereal bowls and spoons for my daughter and daughter. I love that they're lightweight so I can keep them on a high shelf, and I love that they don't break when gravity inevitably joins forces with a cat, dog or toddler. The colors are very pleasant, the bowls have a nice deep shape. I also liked the variety of sizes. One issue so far is that one of them warped from round to oval after one (1) wash in the dishwasher. This doesn't bode well for them in the long run and I laugh that some reviewers said they were oven safe. So they were a good buy, which I later regretted if that makes sense, but they shouldn't be your first choice because they're a compromise between durability and resilience: the worst of both worlds.
