Yes and yes! I wore this to an outdoor wedding where there was no shade and I didn't want to burn myself. Can be twisted like a shawl or draped like a shawl. Looks elegant, doesn't look like an SPF product. Some sports fabric, not as heavy as swimwear fabric that doesn't give off much heat (outdoor wedding dropped to 50 degrees with no heat lamps, hooray). But if you want protection and versatility and don't want to look like a jerk doing it, this will do the trick. PS I ordered white. Washes and dries well.
