I liked the idea but the ring is awkward and difficult to hold when inside out. The rotating ring supports the phone, but you have limited options as to what angle you want to look at your phone from: cool, super cool, or lying on a table. I could deal with that, except for the fact that the ring is plastic instead of metal for some reason. As far as I can tell there is a small metal disk in the middle. The Pixel 2 XL is a heavy device, and this small plate isn't big enough to properly attach to a magnetic car mount. My phone barely sticks to it and falls off while driving. If the ring had been a metal that could be magnetized onto the socket, it probably would have worked much better.
