Review on Component Cable Output Sony PSP HDTV by Hector Liamsi

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The cords worked great. Use all 5 ports to get full audio and video.

Works well. A few things to remember. (or what I had to do) 1) I had to connect all 5 colored plugs to the TV for it to work with video and audio. If you connect green, blue and red, you will only get video. Connect the other red and white to get sound (connect both to get sound from both channels ie speakers) 2) Make sure you are tight when connecting the other end to the PSP. I used it several times because I was afraid it would bend or break. He was strong enough. Just make sure it fits. 3) To play the PSP on your TV: You must be on the PSP home screen. Then go to the leftmost menu (Settings menu). Scroll to Connected display settings. Press the x button. A menu appears on the right. Press x when Toggle Video Output is selected. This will immediately switch the display to your TV. Then you can watch TV and enjoy. A NOTICE. The menu filled the entire TV screen. However, when I was playing games, it essentially only took up the middle half of the TV screen. However, this is not a problem. You can try adjusting the screen settings from 16:9 to 4:3 in the PSP main menu. That might help, but I haven't played around with it much since. it was easy enough to watch and play games. Finally, the only downside is that the cable needs to be plugged into the PSP. And not very long, so you have to sit near the TV. This becomes a bigger problem when you have a low battery and need to connect your PSP as well. This can complicate the game.

Pros
  • Cable length: 6 ft. / 1.8 m
Cons
  • unreliable
