Didn't need a tight waist.
Really, I bought strictly for the length and pockets. The legs were too wide and the waist too tight because of the tight elastic, Shouldn't have been that tight with a tie in it also.
- I bought one pair and loved them then ordered two more. Very nice quality material.
- The waistband constantly needs to be adjusted during workouts
