I have used pops style holders and they have been fine. But I saw this one and decided to give it a try. It was very easy to install on my phone and is sturdy enough to hold the phone in portrait or landscape mode. It's very easy to "activate", you just press the center of the holder and it unscrews (it's made from a 2-3 inch tape measure). It is very "springy" and absorbs bumps perfectly when stretched. To return it to its retracted state, simply slide the "curl" back and it will snap back into place.
