We bought these because our Doberman pup had a broken toe and we needed a good way to keep his cast clean and dry. We never had deep snow while using them but they kept the cast dry from frost/thaw on the ground and allowed us to take it with us on short walks. He tried to bite her - as you would expect from any puppy. We left one on it's cast for about 5 weeks and only had to replace it once but the second one is looking a bit worn now.
