I use this stand for other purposes. At least for now. I really enjoy playing video games and prefer to play standing up, which is why I bought this one as it's a lot cheaper than a real standing desk. Before reading any further, I would like to note that this review is based on the product as a gaming accessory and not a laptop stand. Now we come to the assessment. Adjusting the height was an easy task even without a guide/manual. It just takes a little trial and error. I somehow managed to pinch the buttons on the side (it was actually quite painful), so be careful with that. Designed for a laptop, the platform gives me enough room for my mouse to comfortably move fairly widely. For all my gaming endeavours, I found this stand to be surprisingly stable as I used quite a bit of pressure on it mid-game. Since I need the entire laptop platform for a mouse, I use a small mouse platform for a controller, whether it's a numeric keypad or a game stick. Since the mouse platform only dangles from the main platform, it's not the most stable and starts to sag a lot. Perhaps this aspect of the product can be improved. I also noticed that the whole stand slides easily on a regular table surface. However, this can be easily remedied by placing a non-slip pad under the feet of the stand. Overall I like the product as it is almost perfect for what I need it for.
