Review on Columbia Womens Mountain Croo Jacket by Karla Kennedy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Warmer, waterproof and with an upgraded hood

my third long hooded down jacket. This is warmer, water-repellent and smooth. All three had large hoods, big enough for a thick hat or hooded fleece jacket underneath, but without a hat or hood, they sit low (too low for my liking) on the forehead and make things difficult to see on the side. The hood of this model is better constructed, it has a drawstring so you can press the hood tightly against your face to prevent wind from entering your back. Once the hood is pulled up, you can roll up the hem of the hood if you want to keep your head open. I carry a fleece baseball cap with mine so I can put on the hood and unzip. The hat and brim prevent the hood from falling too far over the face. I'm taking off a star because to be perfect it has to have an external feature on the back of the hood to reduce the size of the hood and not have to be pulled through the drawstring.

Pros
  • STREET STYLE: Zippered hand pockets, ribbed cuffs, dropped hem and snaps at collar make it perfect for urban or outdoor adventures
Cons
  • Available in white only
