Review on XRT302 Keyboard E601I A3 E701I A3 E650I A2 by Donnie Boss

I was very disappointed with the flimsy remote control that came with my Visio TV so I decided to buy a new one for it and thought the keyboard on the back would be great. I have to be honest, I've tried several different brands that didn't work with my TV. While a keyboard would be great, I practically gave up looking for a model with a keyboard on the back until I stumbled across this remote. For less than $10, I'd be happy if the keyboard didn't work, as I've pretty much found out that my TV just can't handle this feature. Actually I thought about it with the second one I bought from another manufacturer but I just wanted something that could do basic things like the original remote and the other two didn't even deliver that. I thought cheap wasn't the way to go until I stumbled upon it. I think the third time was a charm! All main functions work properly and lo and behold. The keyboard too! I will update this review if anything happens but right now I would pay 3x more for a remote with the features it offers. I've read a lot of reviews about this remote and I want to check out some of the complaints I've seen. Someone complained that no batteries were included. Trust me, when you're buying a remote for under $10, you DON'T want batteries to come with it! How many times have you put cheap batteries in something only to find that they can leak and destroy the device? There were no instructions included which confused me a bit because there are buttons that do nothing and seem to be there just for looks. Yes, it was never advertised as a "programmable" remote, so why would anyone need instructions? There are dummy buttons on the remote to make it more attractive, but they don't work. It's remote folks for $10! If you knew how to use the old remote control that came with your TV, or any remote control at all, you will intuitively know how to use this remote control. All in all I am very satisfied with this purchase. It is much better made than the original remote that came with my TV and has all the functionality plus some of the original features. If this thing works, I plan on ordering a protective skin for it. Not because I feel I need one, but because I don't want to risk it after two previous attempts to find a working remote control for my TV. If anything changes I'll change my rating but for now it's good money. spent!
