This 4-piece design is lighter than the 2-piece "rail " design.
I noticed that both of my wall mount TVs have surface mount screw holes where the base plate would attach if placed on a table. And I wasn't thrilled about having to disassemble my entire TV when I could just use the short pieces of this kit between those holes in the panel and the soundbar mounts near it. Works (almost) like clockwork thanks to the adjustable holes in the short temples. Never had to remove the TV wall mounts (and therefore the TV itself) to screw the long rails under the TV mounts like other soundbar rails.
