I switched to this model from the most powerful of the Macmini 2022. The difference in performance in applications is very noticeable, especially in Photoshop, Lightroom and FCPX. Simulators stopped slowing down in Xcode and project builds go 7 times faster! At the same time, the Lightroom interface still slows down, although already quite slightly - it is much more comfortable to work. I used this macbook very actively, for almost the entire first year I drove it for days to encode video and other loading tasks - as a result, just after the warranty expired, its battery began to swell, I think due to constant overheating.
- Small, thin, light, very high quality assembly. An excellent screen with very high-quality color reproduction, which turned out to be quite comfortable to switch from a regular 27 "monitor. Now there is enough power for everything. Finally, the ability to install 32 gigabytes of memory. The touch bar is an interesting thing, it turned out to be very useful in some applications. It is very convenient to log in putting your finger on it saves a lot of time. The huge touchpad is quite convenient in general, in the absence of an external mouse, you can even use it completely for everything (although it is still more convenient to work with an external mouse). It is convenient that the power cable can be plugged anywhere. There is still a hole for headphones, although I have nothing to stick into it.
- Only 4 USB-C ports. If you have a lot of devices with old USB cables, you will have to buy a hub or a bunch of adapters. The keys are unusually thin with a very small stroke compared to a regular Apple wired keyboard - it's hard and long to get used to it. After months of use, the navigation buttons (with arrows) are still inconveniently located - all the time I poke Shift above them. At full load, it will work autonomously for no more than a couple of hours only. The camera is only 720p. Adjusting the volume (and brightness) on the touch bar is inconvenient - you have to aim a lot and tap your finger more than on a regular keyboard. Right after the warranty year, the battery began to swell.
