I used this magic arm mount to attach to a windowsill with a set of 1.25lb binoculars and a smartphone (less than 2 pounds together) so I can photograph the birds at my feeding station. It's all metal and I was hoping it would do what I wanted, but it's not exactly. I set up all the connections so the binoculars are pointing where I want, then tighten the magic knob, release and it will sag 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch, which if you're using binoculars, is line of sight straight out the window throws window . There is no way to tighten a connection. on, and there's very little wiggle room once the main connection is tightened, and even if you "wiggle" it a bit and get the area you want on the screen, it sags back once you let go. hours with it and it's just not accurate enough to keep in a specific directory. It might be ok on a Go-Pro if you're moving around and not trying to get accurate stills, but for my use it's a total failure.
