It really can work with a full frame DSLR!

I would like to start by saying my 5 star rating is based on the price of the arrow. I wouldn't compare it to a 20" Manfrotto or Impact articulated boom. a whole other level when it comes to price and durability. While this 11" mount was able to support the weight of my Canon 5D IV with a Canon 24-70mm f2.8 lens, I don't recommend it for anything that heavy. Instead, it would be ideal if you want to install a light camera, cell phone, or product photography reflector. The arm shares the same…

Doesn't fit well enough for tripod and monopod accessories

I used this magic arm mount to attach to a windowsill with a set of 1.25lb binoculars and a smartphone (less than 2 pounds together) so I can photograph the birds at my feeding station. It's all metal and I was hoping it would do what I wanted, but it's not exactly. I set up all the connections so the binoculars are pointing where I want, then tighten the magic knob, release and it will sag 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch, which if you're using binoculars, is line of sight straight out the window throws…

Handy tool but I wouldn't count on it

When used with a Canon 70D and EF-S 18-135mm lens it's clearly designed for a lighter workload. Although the description states that the arm can withstand a maximum load that far exceeds the load on my camera and lens, in practice I have not found this to be the case. The rubber pads on the clamp wore out within the first 24 hours of attaching it to my desk. The next day the camera fell off the table onto the floor. Luckily I use cheap hardware. I did without the clamp and tried to use it only…

Good but not great but that's why it's cheap.

I have Manfrotto Super Clamps and accessories for almost every other device I need. I was changing my gear and wanted to be able to mount the camera on a vertical tube so I started looking at Manfrotto friction arms but damn the price was killing me. At over $160, I just wasn't ready to bite the bullet, and I didn't need an arm that long. So I went with this little guy instead. Cons: - short arms - small clip that barely fits a 1.75 inch bar. -feels a little flimsy/fragile and the grips are…

Affordable budget option

As a YouTube content creator, I was looking for a way to mount the Sony a6300 in my car so I could vlog when the wind or outside noise is too loud. I came across this friction joint device at Revain and bought it to see if it would work as it won't break the bank. I wasn't ready to buy something super expensive as I don't think I'll be using it all the time. I needed something small, affordable and something I could stow in the car, for example under the seat. This comes in a small box and has…

I was very surprised.

I bought this expecting that it would be enough to stabilize my smartphone when shooting videos. I was planning to use it with a Bluetooth remote shutter release. I was really blown away by how capable this adjustable mount is, so much so that it's more than enough to use with my Nikon DSLR! In no particular order: 1. The clamp is very strong, with aggressive jaws and a metal screw for tightening. Unique shape adheres closely to virtually any surface configuration.2. The hand is easy to…

At first I thought "Hm. " Then I thought "Wow! "

TL;DR Lightweight, durable holder, exceeds all expectations, great price. Recommended! My first impression when I received this mount was that if I wanted to put more money into an ongoing investment I would have to use it once and then get something else. Everything is so small and light that I doubted it would be strong or stiff enough, and I didn't see a way to tighten the ball joints on the ends of each arm. I figured I would have to be very careful with it, that everything would be…

Useful but missing

I use this Panasonic GH3 m4/3 camera mount to record video demonstrations of my work surface from above. Rubber grips are attached to the edge of the shelf to hold the entire set securely. The arm's joint is flexible enough to move at all sorts of weird angles until the camera eye is oriented the way I want it, and once tightened it usually stays in place. All in all, it's a useful problem solver to have in your toolbox. It's good. Here's what's not so good: 1) I'm not a photography expert, so…
