I have 2 SoothingBed.com puffs for my 5 lb Maltese and she LOVES them. I figured I'd pick up a couple extras so that when I'm washing one, she didn't have to be without and I could leave them on different floors of the house. This will suffice but it's definitely not the same and my dog can tell the difference. First, this is huge for her. This would fit my friend's Cavapoo better than my Maltese. If you want a lot of space for your 5 lb dog, the Small will work but one of the things my dog loves about the SoothingBed is that she can curl up and is completely surrounded by fluff. This is so big she can stretch out and there's room for a friend, which means, it doesn't deliver the way theThe quality is also not the same. You can see the mesh underneath the fluff, even when you're barely looking. With the SoothingBed, you can see the mesh but it's not readily apparent. This, also has rough seams, which make it less pleasant to burrow into (something my dog does). It's also a bit misshapen, although I'm hoping once I throw it into the wash, maybe it will be a bit more round. The SoothingBed didn't shrink so I'm not anticipating that with this one; they both are made in China.I ordered 2 of these from 2 different Best Buy sellers. Hopefully the 2nd one will be more like SoothingBed. I went with this one because I wanted pink. It's not even a great pink, although the picture shown is pretty accurate.
