As other commenters have pointed out, IEC cords are *everywhere* and I have plenty of them. And while I'd be very annoyed if I bought devices with a 2ft cord in the box, I've found that there are a lot of things in my house that don't require a 10ft cord, so it's a great advantage to have 2 inch cable under hand. Sure, you can wrap an extra 8 feet of cord in a zip tie, but for that "tidy" look, these things are great. I also think $19 is an unreasonable price for a pack of 5.
