When used with my last choice of bedding sand it was easy. I recently had a garbage sand change and several choices popped up left and right. Surprisingly, when using it, I didn't switch to those that are saltier sooner. Pro: With coarse sand filler (Tofu Kitty), it sifts in just a few shakes. With urine, a few punches and all at once. Cons: Doesn't work well with fine grains of sand (e.g. Swheat Scoop). It could also be slip. If it crumbles easily, it's also the wrong spoon, since the gap is too big and shaking it vigorously can cause the whole thing to crumble faster. Because the gap is large, even small stoolberries will get through, so a gloved hand may have to pick them up. Overall I like the product, with the new garbage sand I got, cleaning with this dustpan is much quicker and with less dust, eliminating the need for a mask.
