Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Slay Base: Game Strategy by Kadarius Gentry

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good new game, but Warriors & Druids should have been part of the

Base Game: A charming work of art. Some of the cards have fun cultural references. It's a game that you can pick up quickly and doesn't take long to play, making it a great "warm-up game" before game nights. Not sure how this will hold up over time as winning is pretty easy and the 'charming' game can't last long. I saw a review suggest a house rule that requires both a full party (all 6 classes for the base game or 7 out of 8 for the expansion) and 3 monsters to win, which is a great idea. Add-on: Warriors and druids are great, but who makes a game with adorable animals and wolves an add-on? These are one of the most popular animals. The expansion pack itself isn't expensive, but you get about 30 new maps in total, and this pack doesn't significantly change or improve the game. There are some new playable gadgets (some wolf heroes can hold two items, and druids are a "low roll for success" when using might). Expansion packs are meant to extend the gameplay/honeymoon time of the game, but in this case it's just a small expansion. TLDR: I would call it a fun new game (better than most new games) with amazing graphics. If you like the concept of the game or the wolves/deer, make an addition, but it's not required.
