I've been using handkerchiefs instead of handkerchiefs for years but on a trip to the Philippines I became addicted to Armando Caruso's beautifully patterned handkerchiefs - a great color combination, very elegant and not boring like the plain white handkerchiefs, that we used to wear, all have grown up. The lack of decent handkerchiefs in America is perhaps a social indicator I don't want to comment on, but I've noticed that people sniff and cough annoyingly on trains without covering their mouths, and the availability of cool, if not stylish, colorful handkerchiefs can go a long way. Making a point of convincing Americans to take their hygiene to the next level. These handkerchiefs are not. They are very thin - in fact I think the packaging is deceiving as the tissues are wrapped around a piece of paper which enhances their appearance. Okay, these handkerchiefs work - you can blow your nose in them, they're just not as pretty as the Armando Caruso handkerchiefs you can buy in the Philippines for a dollar.
