That was a little disappointing. He doesn't seem to like my TV and is very conflicted about his decision to work. The worst thing is that every time I turn it off it defaults to 1080p. I have to manually change the settings to 4k every time I turn it back on. That would be annoying in itself, but it gets a little worse because I have to enter my PIN when I go to the settings (parental controls). I've searched online and it seems this is a common problem and no one has found a solution. I don't understand why the 4k fire device defaults to 1080p but it can't help but be frustrating and I'll be back for a refund. There are some other quirks that are less annoying but still annoying. This is not compatible with my TV's controls. Sometimes the volume changes on both the TV and the soundbar, sometimes just the soundbar. There's an echo when both are on, so I try turning the TV speakers off and just using the soundbar, but sometimes it decides it wants to turn on the TV speakers when I turn it on, and other times it all works fine . I had a similar problem using the TV remote. Sometimes the volume controls just the TV and sometimes both. It's very frustrating to turn off the TV speakers with the TV remote and turn them both off. It's also weird when I try to use other inputs on my TV (gaming systems). Sometimes the soundbar works with other inputs and sometimes it doesn't. When it's running, my TV sometimes switches from my console's input to the Fire TV input, and when I try to switch back, it steals control again. I gave up after the first few days and just manually turned off the power button on the soundbar when I wanted to play (when I use the remote it also turns my TV off). Not being able to use it consistently/reliably while playing is very frustrating. Also frustrating because when I want to switch back I have to get up again to manually press the power button again (turning it on with the remote would turn my TV off). And of course, when it's turned back on, it reverts back to 1080p. I hate it so much. When it works, it's beautiful. The remote control is fast and responsive, apps load quickly and reliably, otherwise everything is fine. I bought it because the built in Android TV on my TV is sluggish, slow and often crashes. I wanted something reliable to replace streaming, but that wasn't the solution. This fixes the issues I had with my TV's built-in smart platform, but the new headache it adds just isn't worth the hassle. I'll probably try the Roku Soundbar next time. I heard they don't have permissions issues. Here I hope.
