Ironing board mat

Been wanting to try one of these for a long time - good price with a smaller mat included. Haven't had a chance to try this out, but as advertised, the fabric stays in place when pressed. I use for sewing. Bought this for a friend who does quilting.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Low repairability

This card does exactly what it promises!

I've always wanted one of these rugs. It was delivered in record time and with two rugs I have a small one to travel with if I decide to do shows or quilt guilds! All of my seams are now so flat that it's so easy to sew the quilts together because the seams line up so well. I love love love this rug. I would recommend everyone to have one, it makes things a lot easier.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other rugs

Traveling with the Iron and Steam Mat

I saw a demonstration of the Wool Mat at the Quilt Trades Show in the first half of April. It came in the mail just before we left for Florida on vacation. It was a two piece set, so I packed a small rug and was able to use it to work on the details of Grandma's step flower garden, which my mother-in-law started in 1992. She asked if I could finish it for her and I agreed. She'll be 102 this fall, so I'm glad I can help with that.

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • Not sure

LEAVES BLACK RESIN ON THE IRON!

I bought this rug for quilting. Inside the mat is a type of plastic binder that will melt and leave a black tar residue on the iron. I had to turn off the iron, clean, and then place the mat in a cotton pillowcase before using it again. The melting of this resin-like plastic did not occur through the pillowcase, but discolored it and caused the pillowcase to stick to the carpet. Thank goodness for 100% Egyptian cotton! And self-cleaning irons!

Very helpful! on iron and steam iron

It was surprisingly good quality for the price. Same thick and beautiful wool as the more expensive one I have. The large one is ideal for large application projects and the small one is perfect for smaller projects. Wool appliqués adhere to these rugs much better because they prevent the pieces from flattening out like they would on an ironing board. They are also great for ironing seams when sewing. Wool absorbs heat and warms the seam from the wrong side, so the seams lie more evenly.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Can't remember

Do Not Buy!: Ironing Boards

I don't believe this product is actually 100% wool. As you can see in the photo it burned and left a horrible melted residue on my little clover iron. It takes me a hell of a long time to clean it off the iron! This was my first time using the product and all I did was hold the Clover iron for a second to see if it was still hot. I returned the item for a refund. I have friends who have wool ironing mats and this is definitely not normal! A 100% wool rug does not burn or melt easily. Don't…

Pros
  • Durable Surface
Cons
  • Problems
