Krups warranty process and customer service is a joke

Kettle works well, although the button to open the lid doesn't always work; Sometimes I have to click it multiple times before it finally opens. The problem lies with the Krups warranty registration online and the (lack of) customer service. I bought these because I wanted Krups quality and a guarantee. But when I tried to register it on their website, the model wasn't selected in their drop-down list and I couldn't just type it in. So I emailed Krups. Four days later I still didn't hear anything, so I emailed again. Four days later I finally got a reply to the first email and was told I had to send in the warranty card. Well, you must register the warranty within 10 days of the purchase date (not even the delivery date) and we're past that point. I sent them a postcard anyway, along with a letter explaining what had happened and the 8 day delay in reply. Of course, I didn't hear anything in response. I could mail the card but due to the post office delay I doubt it would have arrived on time - that's why I wanted to register it online. Well, I'm not inclined to buy anything from Krups again - not after that kind of customer service.
