I got these for surfing and bodyboarding. I have not gotten sunburnt while wearing them, and they look pretty sporty. I wear them on top of a one piece bathing suit with a rashguard: I never have to worry about losing my suit bottoms or my top. I am very pleased! I sometimes wear them for other activities like skateboarding just for the UV protection. Thinking about purchasing another color. I wear a size 12 (sometimes 10) in jeans, and I got a size M.
