I bought an Apple Pencil with my iPad two years ago and I still can't figure out why my Pencil isn't charging. I plug it into my iPad and it says the battery is 3% and it won't charge. I only used it once and never used it again and I paid about $100 for it. I found this pen online and decided I could afford a new $20 pen. I took it out of the box, turned it on and used it right away! It didn't need to be charged or synced to anything, it just started working! I don't know why I waited so long to get a new stylus, but I would like to buy one instead of an apple pencil. many years ago!
