Review on 🚲 Timoo Bike Brake Levers – Aluminum Alloy Bicycle Brake Handle for Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Folding Bike, MTB – 2.2cm Diameter – Black by Mike Betzing

Depends on your purpose of use.

For $8, it's a bit unfair to complain about these levers. They look good and are all aluminum so the barrel adjuster and locking ring rotate smoothly (compared to some plastic levers). I swapped them between bikes and they seemed to work great with both V-brakes and mechanical disc brake calipers. This makes the metal appear quite brittle, and this results in a slight bend that makes them appear "spongy". I like my brake levers to be strong and tight so that was a bit of a disappointment. I think all this is acceptable given the price. Can't comment on their durability, but I think they're a great option for a kids bike, Walmart bike, beach cruiser, etc. On the other hand, if you're into fast road or XC/MTB riding. Trails or situations where your braking ability is paramount to your safety, simply spend a little more and buy an Avid FR-5 (which is now around $20 new and cheaper than used).
