Review on 🎛️ Black Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 Phono Preamplifier for Enhanced SEO by Matt Larsen

I don't know why this item isn't more popular with reviewers on YouTube, stereophiles and elsewhere. I've tried Schiit Mani (interesting but my least favorite of the three), the iFi Zen phono stage (second favourite) and my Pro-ject s2 tube box. I have tried these different phono stages on my two different turntables and stream based systems and in both cases the tube unit won. The iFi is the best sounding solid state phono stage I've heard for under $500, but it doesn't compare to the open sound I get with the Pro-ject. Much deeper with tubes. If you are on the threshold between the three Prime Ministers I have mentioned, please take my advice. I can't speak for any other preamp because I've never tried others. One important thing to mention is that over the past six months I have replaced the standard tubes with Mullard tubes which has made a huge difference in warmer tone and punchy mids.
