Wonderful ! Suitable for home cinema

Have been listening for a few weeks. There is more bass (more punch), high frequencies are also excellent. Mostly warmer. A subwoofer may or may not be required. The gadget is very compact and lightweight. The indicator light is so dim that I missed a week to turn it off. Still ok. Highly recommended. ๏ผป Tested on my old (1993) and new (2014-2018) gear: Sugden preamp, C28S; power amplifier, P28S; Quadral speakers, Waton MK V, JBL 260P subwoofer, turntable, Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Esprit SB, redโ€ฆ

I can only say wow!

I hooked this up to a Fluance RT85 turntable and this thing really brings out the full potential of the Ortofon 2m Blue cartridge. It projects 3D sound with lots of detail all around. It took my vinyl listening experience to the next level. It is made of quality materials, has some weight and looks pretty sharp. It just sounds better and better as the bulbs burn out. I will keep it for a long time. I think you can't go wrong with your purchase. I will recommend this to all my friends whoโ€ฆ

Ticks all boxes, then more

Rating options: value for money, transparency and thickness? Rschunimagu. I have no idea what transparency and thickness are, but value for money? Absolutely. This thing certainly beats well above its price. I was looking for a preamp that would work with both MM and MC cars (tested) and there was a whole analog signal chain (tested), with tubes (tested) that sounded better than the built in preamp on mine Onkyo (very good). check over ). This thing adds beautiful, delicious-sounding tubeโ€ฆ

This thing is amazing!: Home audio

I just bought an entry-level Pro-Jects turntable to soak in memories. Didn't expect to be impressed at all. This turntable is great! I bought their tube amp to support the turntable and I LOVE IT! Lots of cumbersome little DIP switches are set on your cartridge, then you can match the output to your amp/receiver and when you find the sweet spot it just comes alive! Very money well spent! Can't say enough! LOVE this little entry level device! Highly recommended! Done with CDs! Hooked everythingโ€ฆ

Great sound and presentation

Directions leave a lot to be desired. For example, there are two rows of switches below - this isn't mentioned in the instructions, only one is mentioned. I assume one for each channel? However I love it! Sounds amazing to me, a huge upgrade over the previous phono stage I had. Sounds beautiful - with amazing detail, I can hear nuances on some of my favorite records that I hadn't heard before. Break the lamps before I shoot anything - remember the Genelax gold lions for my first set. In general

My rich tubular warmth returned.

I have a music ball x7 with kt88s. Music Hall 5.3 turntable with Dolly Hana SL, Project phono stage and Martin Logan Motion 20 speakers. I really liked it and am mostly very satisfied. Then the lamp failed, so I switched to Tung-sol KT120s. I was very impressed with the increase in bandwidth, clarity and volume. (I highly recommend this update) But the 120s sounded a bit "clinical". slightly smaller than the "Tube". So I replaced the S phono stage with an S2 tube unit and BOOM! Everything hasโ€ฆ

Needs more attention from reviewers

I don't know why this item isn't more popular with reviewers on YouTube, stereophiles and elsewhere. I've tried Schiit Mani (interesting but my least favorite of the three), the iFi Zen phono stage (second favourite) and my Pro-ject s2 tube box. I have tried these different phono stages on my two different turntables and stream based systems and in both cases the tube unit won. The iFi is the best sounding solid state phono stage I've heard for under $500, but it doesn't compare to the openโ€ฆ

Great affordable upgrade

I'd say I have some decent mid-fi components. Audiolab 6000A built-in amplifier, Project Debut Carbon DC TT, Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2 EX speakers. I wanted to see how much accuracy I could get out of my player with some upgrades. So I bought an Orthofon bronze pickup, a Project acrylic disc and a Tube Box S2 preamp. I used to use a phono stage on my integrated amp, which sounded good, but I wanted more. I can't rate the Tube Box S2 separately as I made this change at the same time. But I canโ€ฆ
