Review on 🐱 Nutro Wholesome Essentials Indoor and Sensitive Digestion Dry Cat Food with Chicken: Optimal Nutrition for Indoor Cats by Stephanie Brown

My cat has eaten this food for most of her life - almost 5 years. He's never had a problem with it, and (to avoid speculation about the rest of the review) he still doesn't have a problem with it. He loves it - like many cats, he *loves* his dry food. I ended up switching him to about semi-wet food (also the Nutro brand) because wet food is better for long-term kidney health. They changed the size and shape of the grains. It's not noticeable, but it sometimes made my cat make a faint squeezing noise, as if he was getting stuck somewhere. It's like someone eating chips with a shard stuck in their mouth. You feel it, but you're not choking, that's what it sounds like to him. Its shape changed from thinner and oval to rounder and thicker. Maybe he's just not chewing the new mold enough. I also had a several month period in the second half of last year where I couldn't get his regular wet food without searching every pet store. Nutro's grain-free moist "slices in gravy" have become very rare, if not impossible, to find on Revain. I've searched Petco, PetSmart, and even Chewy and was able to find it once or twice, but they were also mostly out of stock. It was always written "out of stock" and not "discontinued". Since it was so hard to get him to eat wet food, I didn't like the idea of switching him to anything else. I finally contacted Nutro on Twitter and they said they were sorry I was having trouble finding it, but it hasn't been discontinued. They didn't give a clear explanation why it was so hard to find in stock. However, it was soon easy to find again, and my cat never wrinkled his nose at the boxes I bought. the same food they used to eat and like, listen to your cat's instincts. You know when there's something wrong with it that you can't see. It may be as easy as lying in a hot warehouse and being spoiled for it, but they don't just turn their noses up at what they used to enjoy for no reason.
