The cat stopped eating it

My cats have been fed NUTRO Max pet food their whole life. I have two men - 16 years old and 8 years old. As noted here, it was a disappointment when NUTRO discontinued the Max formula a few months ago. The Wholesome Essentials was an alternative. The ingredients seem ok. The smell is strange, almost sour. My cats have been eating this for 5 months. They both vomit after eating (not always) but I figured it was because they eat and run fast. Last week, an 8-year-old child stopped eating…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons

It harms my cats. my 3 year old angus even died

this is killing my cats! My 3 year old Angus has died, 5 year old Dusty was at the vet for 4 days, 5 year old Thomas is partially blocked and 3 year old Savannah (girl) has problems with crystals and blockages. Most cats don't vomit and eat like they used to. Is this batch of food from Mars, China, Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand or Canada? What percentage of ash and magnesium is in it? I can't get anyone on the phone at Revain and they won't let me return the food as an md because I can't contact…

Kittens like it, but not as much as the hairball version

The kittens timidly ate this dry food at first (introduced immediately without mixing with the old food), but now they eat it regularly and without persistence. still prefer the "ball of yarn" variety (Nutro Hairball Control Adult Cat Food with Chicken and Whole Brown Rice Formula) which they love so much they eat it as a treat. My two 4 year old kittens always have dry food available (with regular treats as well as wet food every few days). Since they are never "hungry," they tend to choose…

Something Wrong With Dry

This is a great cat food and my cat loves it. But there was something wrong with the last bag I received from Revane. My cat doesn't throw up often, but she's a cat, so she throws up from time to time. Shortly after opening the new packaging, we noticed that she was throwing up almost every day. Then we noticed that she had stopped begging for her kibble and there was still food in the bowl when we went to feed her again. So I bought a new bag somewhere else. I compared the food and it looked…

Appears to be decent food. used it for about a year.

I have recently given up this food for my cats after using it mid last year. or last spring. I have 2 cats that have been eating this food for almost a year. Now I don't think there's anything wrong with the food. Both cats seem to have taken it very well. I have one cat that burps A LOT and the other almost never. This food didn't affect any of them in this way, meaning it didn't hurt or help an existing vomiting problem. I chose this food because it is one of the few dry cat foods that does…

ATTENTION TO THE BUYER! on Food

Disclaimer: I never usually write long reviews or reviews on this subject. This is important to me because animal health is potentially at risk. If you don't want to read below, in short: Since the price (from $32 to $17 for a 14 pound bag), something has changed with the food, and after a year of eating, my cat hasn't touched a $17 bag. ATTENTION, before you buy this feed, something has changed. ------------- My 2 year old cat has been eating this special nutro chicken with brown rice for over

Will change shape/size in 2021

My cat has eaten this food for most of her life - almost 5 years. He's never had a problem with it, and (to avoid speculation about the rest of the review) he still doesn't have a problem with it. He loves it - like many cats, he *loves* his dry food. I ended up switching him to about semi-wet food (also the Nutro brand) because wet food is better for long-term kidney health. They changed the size and shape of the grains. It's not noticeable, but it sometimes made my cat make a faint squeezing…
