Good quality replacement

I bought this for my Buick Lucerne 08 and it was fairly easy to replace and has been working great for a number of months. I would buy this product again.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Hard to tell

The bearings are of poor quality, there is little lubrication.

I was disappointed with the quality of the bearing and the lack of lubrication. I would recommend rotating the bearing to check for rattle and removing the seal to check for lubrication. Mine had very little.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Damaged

No 3.5 " pulley

This item is incorrect as the 3.5" pulley is actually a 3" pulley. You can check the part number on the Dayco website. Turns out I still need it, but it's not what I expected. Used on a '98 Grand Cherokee L6. The pulley near the A/C compressor is 3" and the pulley under the power steering pump is 3.5".

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons

Pulley made in the USA: Pulleys

Made in the USA! I think it's equal to ACDelco and half the price of buying it. For the Buick PA, this is a 3 inch idler pulley. I was able to use the original dust cover without the fasteners (this pulley does not include a new dust cover). Dayco states on the packaging that the dust cover is not needed as the bearings are covered. Dayco recommends not using the dust cover if it binds the pulley.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I'll keep quiet

THE BIGGEST KITE PULLEY EVER SEEN ON THIS PLANET!

What can I say about a V-ribbed pulley that more eloquent automotive poets haven't talked about? I like the color of the bearing seal. It makes the long lonely nights watching a running engine that much more rewarding. You must buy this pulley even if you don't have a car! It's really fantastic!

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Not for 2006 Ford Taurus

I bought this (and tensioner and serpentine belt) all supposedly for a 2006 Ford Taurus. Whilst we knew it was smaller than what was filmed (see attached photo) as the car was in use we thought it might actually be correct. Well it isn't. We took the old one (yes we still had it three weeks later) to a local parts store, bought the right one and it worked great (no belt squeak). So this is NOT for the 2006 Ford Taurus.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Fair

Will not work in wet conditions

Just a warning that this pulley will work properly on a Nissan 4.0 engine but if it gets completely wet the poly V-belt will slip. I installed this on my Nissan Xterra which was built for off road and well water protected engine bay but if water gets on this pulley it will slip right off. unless you ride off-road and in dry climates a great pulley, but anywhere it's wet I'd spend the extra money on a factory pulley.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Reliability

Don't pull my chain!

Ordered three pulleys for my f150 5.4L. 2006. Dayco 89006, 89007 and Gates 36157 grooved. 89006 did not reach the intended position. I believe it's the pulley that attaches to the spring-loaded tensioner arm. I've already replaced the entire tensioner arm with the entire pulley. Dayco 89007 and Gates 36157 arrived quickly, fit perfectly and work great. FYI, the old pulley was in worse condition. I compared the metal thickness of the original pulley to the replacement pulley, the Daiko was…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Bearing adjustment required on 2004 Crown Vic

I installed this on a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. An adjustment was required to properly install the tensioner. I suggest comparing the location of the bearing (in the pulley) to the bearing and pulley assembly you are removing. I didn't, and the new pulley rubbed on the aluminum timing chain cover, leaving a ring-shaped groove in the aluminum. I had to remove the pulley and press the bearing about 2mm against the back of the pulley (rear when mounting on a car). This caused the pulley to move…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some difficulty
