Bought for travel. I used it as my personal item on the plane and it was so versatile that I ended up using it in my field research instead of the other shoulder bag I brought with me. I was able to fit my iPad (full size, not mini) and other travel essentials. Side pockets are perfect for cell phone and water bottle. I highly recommend this bag! Tip: I used the detachable shoulder strap to wrap wheels around the handle of my carry-on. Worked great!
