As someone who has had a full beard for almost a decade, I've tried quite a few beard care products. For the most part they are all very similar. The laundry is mostly clean and leaves a very squeaky (almost dry) feeling after the shower. Conditioner helps a little after washing but nothing special, the only thing I tried that I really liked was Scotch Porter. Oils are moisturizing, some are overly greasy and just not very appealing. Balms help set the overall shape of the beard in order, some aren't strong enough and end up just adding another layer of oil to the mustache. Okay, now let's move on to this review. So I think this is the most natural and effective line of products I have found so far. Laundry first, oh my god, laundry. I could just stop here. This is my favorite in the series. It makes my beard so soft I don't want to ruin it with conditioner. If you try just one of these products, laundry becomes a must. Then we have the detangler, which is pretty much a leave-in conditioner. It also softens the beard and makes it smooth, which is wonderful. The oil in the kit is probably not needed since the detangler and detangler do such a good job, but it's a quality oil nonetheless. The reason I say this is because it doesn't really leave greasy on the hair, you can feel it absorbing into either the follicle or the skin after the first use, depending on what it's intended for. . As I mentioned earlier there are some oils that just don't do that, they are just greasy all day. The balm is probably my least favorite of the entire line, but only because it's not a very strong hold balm. As I said, another layer of oil. This one also absorbs, so it's ok. I prefer a stickier balm with more wax than oils. In addition, the aroma of this line has a subtle chocolate-vanilla scent. A very pleasant scent, which my wife also liked at first. However, after about a week of using the product I no longer smell which is normal. I find this to be common with a lot of these beard oils and the like. So overall a great product set that keeps my beard soft and hydrated all day, it also feels like quality in the sense that it really absorbs. It's not like you just put baby oil all over your face. I can't stress this point enough, there are some 'famous brands' beard care products that feel like this. That's why this line of products really stands out for me. Five stars.
