Review on 🌿 Garnier SkinActive Micellar Skincare Routine Kit: Gentle Care for Sensitive Skin by Erica Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of my favorite budget skincare lines

I've been using Garnier SkinActive diligently for almost two years now - it's really great for my sensitive combination skin. My most popular product is micellar cleansing water. It does an excellent job of removing makeup without irritating my eyes or skin and doesn't leave a heavy residue. I also like to rub it on my face in the morning when I'm late, or before bed on a jaded night - it really takes a lot less effort to cleanse my skin of dirt and oil. It's also great for a simple afternoon clean-up during those summer months. I've found my favorite way to use it with cotton pads, especially for makeup removal. That being said, I've been wanting to try some of their other products for a long time. I was particularly interested in trying the 3-in-1 moisturizer as I was looking for a moisturizing product that could be used at night or as a mask. I would say that this moisturizer works very well for these purposes. However, the moisturizer is quite thick - to me it feels more like a regular mask or night cream than a moisturizer. I probably won't use it as a day moisturizer because it's a lot heavier than what I'm used to, but if you're like me and looking for a more nighttime solution, this should work for you. The moisturizer also smells slightly like rose, which I think is normal. I usually like rose-scented products, and while they're not unpleasant, the smell just didn't blow my mind. This is a very common smell of cosmetic cream. The mask was really cooling and soothing and fitted my face really well. One issue I had is the procedure - the box seems to suggest using micellar water, then moisturizer, then mask. I wasn't sure if this was the best idea considering the moisturizer is so thick, but I wanted to follow the company's recommendations. All of this resulted in the mask's liquid not being properly absorbed by my skin as it was only on top of a layer of moisturizer. I was able to rub the product in, but it was a little wet. I really recommend starting with a micellar water, then a mask, then a moisturizer as it's more of a traditional skincare routine anyway. Overall my skin feels really refreshed after using all 3 products. So far my skin feels great and if my experience with this line of products shows how I will respond I am sure I will be using them for a long time to come.
