When you need storage and a footstool. That's it. Also a place for my dog sleep. Many uses. I like how each side folds over. I don't have to remove the entire lid to insert and remove items. 2 bought. Went upstairs behind the windows in 2 rooms. My dog likes to look out the window. The bottom of the window seals are the right height for my dog. Plus lots of storage space. I'm happy. And my dog too.
