These calipers look tough and precise on the outside, and they are. But inside they are very cheaply made. Mine started reading differently every time I closed it, so I took it apart to clean and fix it. Cogs and cogs were flimsy and cheap. I looked on YouTube and all the repair videos were way better than this one. I also learned that this model is made in China. It appears to be another case of corporate greed. Too bad because the slider and the caliper body are so high quality that it's a waste of good materials.
