The pen is ideal for all puppies, except that large breeds quickly outgrow it. My pup will not weigh more than 12-13 pounds so this will take longer. It's lightweight and easy to move. Easy to assemble, perfect for the price and durable. If you have a growing large breed they will crawl out quickly so I'm not sure the extra expense of a vented top is worth it. You can go straight to the big metal box. We use them on all our dogs, just needed a spot while she's too young for box training and if I'm not around for a few hours she has a place to defecate without getting on her bed to rise. They stay clean longer and never want to urinate where they sleep. I would recommend this product!
