Although this shirt has reviews everywhere, I am very happy with the choice. I was a bit nervous because some said they run very small, others said they run very large. I bought on purpose. I usually buy X-Large but I bought 2X because I like a looser fit and usually fits snugly around my stomach after a few washes. Sizing is now slightly larger and longer than I usually wear but it has already shrunk to fit almost perfectly. Keep in mind I bought more than usual so the length will reflect that. I hope it doesn't shrink too much. Some reviewers dislike the shirt's sturdiness. This is a heavyweight, just what I was looking for. This year I bought several shirts of this style in softer fabrics but they don't wear or wash the same way. Or the same will do. I like a looser fit that doesn't stick down the middle, and this shirt gives me that. And after a few washes, it's less "natural" too. The neckline is definitely smaller than other similar shirts I've bought in the past. But I'm happy here too. Usually if I buy a larger size than usual, the neck is also larger, and nobody likes a slouchy neckline, right? My body type is tall in the middle but my neck, arms and legs haven't gained the same weight. If you have a larger neck than usual, you might not like it. For me it fits perfectly and looks like it will never sag. In winter I wear them under other shirts and it will look pretty bad. The last thing I should mention is that some people don't like shoulders that go beyond the arms. This can be a legitimate problem. I have broad shoulders and when I first put it on I thought I had small wings. I have again ordered more than usual and waited for me to wash it several times. I have broad shoulders and after shrinking it becomes less of an issue. If he sits down a little more, it's ideal, if not a minor detriment to all of the other benefits. I can't speak for others who thought their shirts were too big or too small or their necks too small. I bought 1 of 2 to try and I've ordered 3 more in the same size. Very happy to find what I was looking for.
