Not bad for a solvent-free wipe

We guys tend to be macho and these wipes are kind of macho. Although they claim to have no "solvents", they are capable of removing tar, oil, grease, dirt, etc. What's even more exciting is that one side of the towel is a softer cloth and the opposite side is an abrasive scraper that can help. remove more stubborn dirt. How well do these wipes work? Good enough. We have solvents that remove grease and oil faster, but they're also toxic. For wipes that avoid toxicity, this is probably your best bet. Granted, we haven't tried to clean up every type of mess, but they seem to work pretty well with dirt, oil, and grease. We didn't try resin, although some reviewers state the wipes can handle resin. We will also not use the cleaning side of this cloth on the painted surfaces of our vehicles. By the way, the product specifically says not to use glass cloths. It took a while but we finally found the ingredients for these wipes. Well, most of the ingredients, starting at 80-96%, are listed as "Secret Formula" which we list as "Mystery Meat". According to the Safety Data Sheet, these wipes contain: Ethoxylated Alcohol Surfactant: 2-10% Sodium Xylene Sulfonate: 1-5% Ethoxylated Amine Thomamine E-14-5: 1-5% Mystery Meat: 80-96% We are not chemists, and our knowledge of chemistry is limited, so we must take Drumex at its word that these chemicals are not "solvents" or "VOCs". The safety data sheet for this product states that the chemicals in the wipes are irritating to the eyes, but the data sheet also states that ingestion and inhalation are considered atypical routes of entry. However, sufficient ventilation must be provided in accordance with the measures against accidental release according to the safety data sheet. While there may be no VOCs per se, there is obviously something that can become airborne and cause irritation, so holding these wipes up to your face and sniffing them hard seems unwise. It is also unwise to wipe your face with these wipes. Scratched the back of his head a little about the rating. The question is pending. These wipes are great for oil and dirt, but struggle a little with dried grease. We also have some interesting smudges of undetermined origin that came off with a fair amount of elbow grease and the use of a scrubbing side. As such, we believe these wipes are likely to be better for people with respiratory and/or skin issues when exposed to solvents, and generally better for people and the environment, regardless of sensitivity. However, sometimes solvents just work more effectively and thoroughly. The bottom line is that wipes won't replace all toxic solvents BUT they seem to be a worthy alternative. After dithering a bit between four and five stars, we finally decided that they're pretty darn good for a solvent-free wipe. Not perfect, but pretty good. That's why we get five stars for this product. Enjoy!
