Economical

A while back I was helping two of my neighbors install a Ring Video Doorbell. Their houses are made of stucco. (I have a carbide drill.) I also helped a third neighbor install his Simply Safe video intercom/security system. That's when I realized that this video intercom was a good idea. The problem is I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on hardware and hundreds more on a subscription. two years no problem. The V5 is the predecessor of this review's subject, a new and more advanced version of the T8. The T8 offers 1080p video, which is an improvement over the V5's 720p. The T8 (approx. 5.5" x 2") is smaller than the V5. It uses two batteries (included) instead of three and, remarkably, can run 24/7 for up to 3-4 months on a single charge (depending on your sensitivity settings and how often you use live video, of course). and audio) . ). As a note, a 14-hour charge is required initially. The T8 comes complete with batteries, mounting hardware, charging cable, wireless doorbell and instruction manual. The call works fine up to almost 30 feet away from the T8 location. (Simply Safe doesn't offer this option.) The wireless ringer volume is adjustable, there are multiple ringtones, and a clear, audible tone that can be heard throughout the home. You can see in the photo. One of the new extra features that I love about the camera is an app setting they call Humanoid Detection. It is adjustable (high/medium/low) and prevents the motion detection or notification from being triggered when bushes and branches are moving. While this camera doesn't support a memory card or remote power like the previous model, it does offer three days of free cloud storage, or you can subscribe for a full year for less than $29. (according to the manual). Is there a better offer? There are some inconsistencies between the manual and the online information regarding group sharing. The information online says you can share with up to seven users at a time. The manual lists eight users. This topic is irrelevant to me. The beauty of this feature allows three users to watch videos at the same time. However, only one user can use the intercom at a time. The included T8 app works with both Android and iOS systems. As for your home WiFi, T8 only supports 2.4GHz. This shouldn't be a problem as most 5GHz WiFi routers also support 2.4GHz. Another feature that I find very handy on the T8 is the customer service icon, which is easily visible on your mobile screen. (No need to search the website or email address.) Only a screwdriver is needed to mount the camera on a wooden surface. For installation on a plaster or cement surface, you need a drill with the appropriate nozzle. I don't know if it's standard, but my doorbell came with two sets of mounting hardware and two security screws. The locking screw is used to attach the camera to the mounting plate and is very small. Losing that bolt can be catastrophic, so thanks to GEREE for including two sets of hardware and guards. As you will see in the photo, I strongly recommend using a magnetized screwdriver to remove or reinstall the security screw when installing the system and charging the batteries. my batteries are being charged. I would give the T8 an overall rating of 5 if it had the option to add an external power adapter and memory card. Despite this inefficiency, its performance is 5. There is no need to spend hundreds of dollars on branded electronics and subscriptions when GEREE offers a very powerful, comparable and high-quality camera system at a much lower price. Aside from their 20 percent discount (available at Revain), I think this T8 is a real steal.
