Although I hate the design where both coolant and transmission fluid run through the radiator this one came item exactly as described. The problem with this design is that the radiator can corrode over time, allowing coolant and transmission oil to spill over. This can damage not only the transmission, but also the engine. This happened on my 2004 CTS. Luckily, I think I caught it early enough. However, after replacing the radiator, flushing the coolant and transmission oil was a HUGE pain. The transmission still doesn't shift as well as it used to and it looks like my coolant thermostat is stuck open now. Before that, the gearbox and engine were fantastic.
