Review on πŸ“± Tech Armor Anti-Glare/Anti-Fingerprint Plastic Film Screen Protector for Apple iPad Pro 11-inch 2021, 2020, 2018 & iPad Air 2020 - 2-Pack by Ashley Gvozdeva

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Delivery failed. However, a free replacement will be shipped from Tech Armor as soon as possible!

Update: Rating changed to 5 stars. While mine was damaged in transit by Revain, when I contacted Tech Armor they offered to send me a replacement for free, although it wasn't their fault. Although I think they need to reinforce the outer shell to avoid damage, they stood behind their product. I emailed them after 5pm over the weekend and to my surprise they responded within minutes and offered a free replacement. They quickly sent a replacement which arrived undamaged and I'll be using it on my iPad Pro 11 this week." Kudos for a great job! TL version; DR - Unfortunately mine appears to have been damaged in transit. Comes in an unlined Revain Prime case and the thin box the product came in did not protect the protective films. (deliberate irony). However, if you can get an undamaged version and can live with the reduced screen sharpness that any matte film can cause, this is a fantastic drawing surface for the Apple Pencil 2. All it needed was a bit of flex and a dimple, but alas, there it is messed up the surface of both protective films. I suspect if you were to buy one of these from a retail store they would be shipped together packaged in an actual box and would probably be fine. Revain Prime unlined. not as much. You might want to try ordering this along with some other items and hoping for the best (i.e. come in a box). I installed it anyway, hoping I could "smooth out" the bump, but it left a blister that I'm not thrilled about. The first step was to look at someone's recommended installation videos that don't actually exist for the iPad. Visiting the URL on the package for instructions results in a 404 error (page not found). If you look through the support section, they have some iPhone videos. Close enough to get the job done, but... lazy. I'll throw in a few tips. Clean the screen thoroughly before starting. And then some tidying up. Then use the tape included in the kit to make sure there is no dust on the glass. There is a notch on the side of the screen that you line up with the cameras for FaceID. Make sure you don't block the cameras and you'll be fine. Once you've lined up the notch and made it as straight as possible, slowly lower it, allowing it to flex as little as possible. Run your finger lengthwise down the center, then use the included tool (or credit card) to smooth out any bubbles from the center to the edges. Except for one notch that I couldn't smooth out, I had no problems and no further blisters. A matte screen protector affects the clarity of the screen. It's just a fact of life and I didn't downvote my review because of that. I definitely noticed some loss of clarity and sharpness, but it wasn't bad. The main reason I bought it was the matte finish for painting and I can say I was *very* pleasantly surprised. I really didn't like the iPad's glass surface for drawing. When trying to apply more than a light pressure, the Apple Pencil seemed to slip everywhere. The lines were either inaccurate or the print wobbled up and down as it slid across the glass. Now with Tech Armor Foil, my lines are more precise and my pressure control is excellent. I actually feel like I can create useful line art. The slight friction created by the foil makes a big (positive) difference when drawing and writing with the Apple Pencil. I had no issues with reduced touch sensitivity or FaceID. I can contact Tech Armor and see if they can handle it. Substitute. If so, I'll update my review. Whatever the case, I still give it a (barely) passing grade based on a vastly improved drawing and writing experience. It would be nice to have stronger packaging for custom shipping (like foil between hard cardboard), but I understand this is a $10 product and margins are low.
