These sponges are weird. They are completely flat and will stretch when you take them out of the box. Sometimes they hold a lot of soap, but sometimes not immediately after adding the soap. Great price and you get so much. They're not perfect for anything, but they have their uses. They don't seem to pick up odors or mold like regular sponges do. Sometimes they seem too soft for this job. They cut corners due to their shape, but they don't always work if you want a square. I keep buying them because they amuse me, because they're flat, because they give me so many sponges, and because they usually do the job.
