Just wanted to share a few things I read about in reviews before buying.1. IC rating. Many complain that the device, as the name suggests, does not have an IC rating. The instructions indicate that the device has an IC protection class only if an LED lamp is used; If a halogen lamp is used, it has no IC rating. It's a bit on the gray side and it's misleading. The manufacturer is "trying" to say that you don't need the 3" spacing when using an LED bulb, so you can mount it as if it were an IC rated light. But technically you're not buying an IC rated light fixture. So the name is misleading and it can be dangerous. Years after you install this, no one will remember that warning and may install a halogen bulb instead of an LED. My advice on this is to install with the correct spacing regardless of lamp type 2. Cutout Template - The instructions say to use the supplied template to mark the hole for the cutout but neither was provided as people in the Reviews mention what people What I didn't realize is that the cardboard used as part of the packaging IS the actual template. So be careful not to tear the wrapper as you will need it to mark the circle you cut out. 3. LED Bulbs - I just installed them yesterday so can't comment on the durability of the bulbs yet, but they all worked straight away. Color temperature is as expected for a 3000k bulb. Lumens appear to be advertised 4. Fastener - The sheet metal used for attachment is very thin. It's not really a problem until you plug it in and try to slide the wire bracket into the 3" hole. above the ceiling.
