I just received a couple of these in the mail and the instructions say a locksmith is required for 2011 and later models. NO! I'm happy to report that all you have to do is follow the instructions (which btw are from Toyota, just easier to find) and you're good to go. I programmed both in 20 seconds on the first try. Note: I purchased these for a base 2011 Tacoma Access 5 speed cab that came without keyless entry. I bought the original module off eBay, part number 89741-04010, plugged it in behind the glove box (the plug is physical on all models), added these remote controls and DONE! in this project a total of one hundred dollars. Works perfectly with all original ceiling lights and position lights. Optional: piezoelectric buzzer, part number 89747-AC010. Mount it next to the driver's side front bumper next to the battery and you have a full factory keyless entry system. Please.
