This is a good unit but unfortunately it has some design flaws which I believe are present in any lighter like this.1. It's not that easy to light a cigarette with. The opening of the electrodes is not large enough. Again, this is probably because a larger gap would require a much more powerful (large + comber) battery, and could also be dangerous. You CAN light a cigarette with it, but this is random and will result in ash/tobacco on the lighter.2. So, if he doesn't light cigarettes easily, then he should light candles well, right? Unfortunately there aren't any. The flip-style cap it has doesn't flip all the way back (like the Zippo), so you end up burying the cap in wax to light the candle in the jar like a "Yankee candle." 3 stars for design flaws - no less because it's still cool!
