splendor! good for spare parts

This little device pretty much does what it does. I recently bought a 2004 Nissan 350Z, which is a great little sports car, but it's way behind the times as far as the gauges go - no screens, just a few small LED displays. With this connection, I feel like my little buggy has become a more modern vehicle. I review about 1 product per TAG, and this is the likeliest contender for my cool product of the quarter title. Yes, the plastic body could be a bit stronger and the screens, while nice, aren't particularly intuitive to set up, but the display is very good and easy to read in any light except direct sunlight. Nice graphics and lots of information. This lags a bit behind rapidly changing things like speed and RPM, but I suspect it has to do with the polling rate of the car computer. I don't know if all ODBII interfaces are updated at the same rate or not, but you may not see the RPM and SPEED values growing in sync with reality. but this is in normal travel mode, they will be exactly the same. The inclinometer (built into the device) works very well when stationary or at low speeds. At higher speeds it jumps everywhere (my 2021 truck has this feature built in and even it doesn't report speeds over 15mph because it knows it can't get accurate readings). My favorite screen (and probably most people) is in the main photo. You can even use the < and > buttons to customize what the top two indicators report, but I haven't seen if there's some kind of magic key combination to change any of the others. I really don't care how many GPS satellites it sees. but it would be great (especially here in the mountains) to show altitude - but I don't want to give up RPM or FUEL. I haven't tested 0-62 or 62-0 acceleration/deceleration, but it's a pretty cool feature. And what's more, you can also use it as a fault code scanner and get a report of all the codes that appear on your vehicle. There is room for improvement in the materials and interface but until something better comes along this is an AMAZING product and I heartily recommend it especially if your car doesn't already have a lot of gauges built in. 4.75 stars! Hope that helps!
