Review on 🔌 I/O Crest 2-Port eSATA III / 2-Port SATA III PCIe 2.0 x1 Non-RAID Controller Card - Asmedia ASM1601 Chipset (SD-PEX40049) by Samuel Hansen

Great for my use case. I have a BIOSTAR Hi-Fi A85W and I've tried two different SSDs and I keep getting freezes where the HD activity indicator stays on and the system becomes unresponsive for about 30 seconds (except for the mouse). HD activity then returns to normal and the system responds again. He kept going and it was driving me crazy. So I decided to connect this card to my computer and try to connect the SSD to the SATA connectors of this card and not to the motherboard SATA connectors. I can boot from an SSD attached to the card and it doesn't add too much extra time to boot. So far there have been no freezes in 2 days of use. I am very happy with my purchase. The only issue is compatibility with my motherboard and case. It doesn't fit flush with the body (the top of the screw plate is about 1/8" taller) so I'm giving it 1 star.
