The protective film itself is very pleasant. This glass is 98% frosted. The edges still have a glossy finish, but this is most likely done to accommodate the true 2.5D edge, which is a highlight in terms of touch usage. Others sell a 2.5 blade but they are still sharp. This one isn't, and it's slick. Using it in hands, mostly one touch, makes it silky and smooth, especially with the matte finish that has been made. Note that the Face ID cutout isn't 2.5D like the rest of the edges. The only thing that bothers me is the app. For this price many others can add brittle plastic to help with alignment. It uses a "guiding tape" that doesn't even stick to the tread to keep it in the right direction due to its silky smoothness. I decided not to use it, just look at it (which luckily I got the first time).
