Fits my purpose

I had this key for about two weeks and tested it in several scenarios before writing this review. I'm using this with the new Dell XPS 13 7390. The good news is that it's very well built yet relatively compact for the number of ports it has. I tested it at work and was briefly able to get two 1080p HDMI monitors working. However, after disconnecting and reconnecting between meetings, I lost one of the monitors and was never able to turn them both back on. But with a monitor it worked perfectly. It was frustrating so I decided to use it at home where I have a monitor (Dell 1440p monitor) that this adapter connects well via Displayport. All other connections work perfectly. I had an issue with a USB power surge when connecting a portable hard drive, which is more likely due to the computer not having enough bus power to power all attached peripherals (including a bus-powered audio system). Interface). To solve this, I connected a laptop power supply via a PD slot on the dongle, which then provides native bus power to all attached peripherals without the need for a laptop. This is good because it allows my audio interface to stay on even if the laptop is unplugged from the key (there is a pop in the speakers when the interface turns off). The last thing I want to mention is that when I used the original Dell 45W AC adapter via the PD slot, my laptop warned me that it was charging slowly (connecting peripherals (USB devices)). This was fixed with a more powerful PSU (60W) and this warning disappeared. I hope this review was helpful in terms of how I use this device!
